Resumen
The objective is to identify the sociodemographic profile of the sample and what are the self- care guidelines that the patient receives from the multiprofessional team as well as the patient's subsequent adherence to the self-care process. This is a quantitative cross-sectional study carried out from July to September 2017 with a sample composed of 30 ostomized patients undergoing antineoplastic treatment in a university hospital in the central region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The analysis was performed through SPSS 21.0. It was observed that there was a predominance of patients with ostomies of elimination, followed by patients with ostomies of nutrition and ventilation and 80% of these patients reported receiving self-care guidelines. Regarding adherence to the most diverse guidelines, the results were favorable, demonstrating that in 67% self-care guidelines surveyed, patient adherence was 100%. The self- care guidelines for the oncological patient with ostomy guarantee a better adaptation to this new reality and improve the quality of life.
