Jogos tradicionais: possibilidades nas aulas de Educação Física

The games are part of the children’s environment at school, at the street, at their homes. Attracted by the pleasure of the movement they become experts in this area of knowledge, appropriating of this ludic culture. Some of these games are passed from generation to generation which are defined with traditional games. They arouse in student the learning from diverse cultural manifestations, being coadjuvants actions for the development of the educational process in the body language knowledge. The study aimed to analyze the development of traditional games in the Physical Education classes in the initial grades of Elementary School at the city of São Francisco de Paula. The sample was composed by 73 teachers who teach Physical Education in the initial grades of Elementary School, using a questionnaire with open and closed questions. To the open questions was used content analysis with dismemberment of the answers into categories and to the other questions it was applied the descriptive statistics. Based on the results it can conclude that teachers are in their great majority formed in Pedagogy and Magisterium, the teachers have linked concepts about traditional games, especially the transmission of culture to conduct to the physical exercise. The frequency of classes and the game development could not establish a pattern, these did not demonstrate to have difficulties in the development of traditional games. It is emphasized that the objectives, the planning and development of traditional games need to be linked to pedagogical proposal of the school, thus ensuring the legitimacy of Physical Education in the school context with excellence the development of physical culture of the student in the initial grades of Elementary School.
