| dc.description.abstract | Dancing on wheelchair reveal new possibilities of existence, new ways of life,
developing aspects that contribute to the re-organization of life of people with
disabilities and allowing personal growth with more autonomy and social integration.
The objectives of this study were identify and analyze the representation of the body
of men who use wheelchairs to dance; know the profile of the respondents; analyze
the representations of "own dancing body"; analyze the representations of "another
dance body." The research was to sample 05 dancers who have ages between 18
and 47 years and use wheelchairs to dance. This research fits as Field Research,
which for Marconi and Lakatos (2006) is one whose goal is to get information and
knowledge about a problem, for which we seek an answer. Dancing man in implicit
and explicit values in the discourses on disability, "the world of wheels", among
others: as an instrument of this study, the semi-structured interview, in which we list
topics such as used. We conducted a pre-prepared plan with questions, according to
the objectives and the research problem, we come to these categories: identification
