dc.description.abstractDancing on wheelchair reveal new possibilities of existence, new ways of life, developing aspects that contribute to the re-organization of life of people with disabilities and allowing personal growth with more autonomy and social integration. The objectives of this study were identify and analyze the representation of the body of men who use wheelchairs to dance; know the profile of the respondents; analyze the representations of "own dancing body"; analyze the representations of "another dance body." The research was to sample 05 dancers who have ages between 18 and 47 years and use wheelchairs to dance. This research fits as Field Research, which for Marconi and Lakatos (2006) is one whose goal is to get information and knowledge about a problem, for which we seek an answer. Dancing man in implicit and explicit values in the discourses on disability, "the world of wheels", among others: as an instrument of this study, the semi-structured interview, in which we list topics such as used. We conducted a pre-prepared plan with questions, according to the objectives and the research problem, we come to these categories: identification data, representations of "danceable own body" representations of "the other body dancing" and representations Dancer about the other's gaze for the dancing impaired man. Meaning healthy body, established by the tax and social context by the media, is generally relating to aesthetics. Bodies without these patterns, most people with disabilities have in their own bodies "marks" which can be understood as being synonymous with a patient, and therefore becomes a group less accepted by society. Hybrid bodies are marked at the same time by the weak, the performance and technology, and enable people with disabilities, especially to athletes, new ways of living, coping and overcoming its limits, including them in contemporary society through sports practice and skill development never reached or allowed.
