dc.description.abstractThis paper presents some theoretical and practical results about the Facebook social networking used as a learning tool for students in 8th and 9th grade of elementary school, in the School Ataliba Brum, city of Cachoeira do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In this opportunity, was researched for theoretical reference about of the use of computer media and specifically this technology in the educational process. The objective of this work was to use the social networking site Facebook as a pedagogi-cal tool to support knowledge generated in the classroom in the final years of prima-ry school. The methodology was submitted a literature review and a case study, called qualitative exploratory. The main conclusion drawn relates to the changes caused in the field of learning in relation to the demands of contemporary society, which is mediated by digital technologies. The interaction between Facebook and education interferes positively in educational purposes, because they allow interac-tion and collaborative learning.
