The documents that are related to a person are configured as an important source for research, being increasingly sought after by users of archives. In this sense, the personal contact with files is a unique feeling, as they reveal the private life of the producer, allowing us to understand the society itself from the analysis performed in this set of documents. This directly immersion in the personal files shows us some of the experiences lived by these actors. The contact with these sources makes that we come across with very intimate fractions of the history and memory of these characters. In this sense, organizing a documentary collection of a person requires of the archivist an interdisciplinary work in which is not only limited to archival theories, but forces him to go into other areas of knowledge. The collection of this research consists of the documents of the professor Neusa Martins Carson, that are in custody of Corpus Laboratory: Laboratory of Sources and Language Studies, linked to the Graduate Program in Arts of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), which has the politic of receive documental collections of the employees of UFSM. The documents of this research are related to the professional and academic life of this professor and they are from the period of 1944 to 1987. This work has began with the knowing of the biography of the collection's producer to make the arrangement of the documents and their organization. And, currently, a research tool is being implemented for the web through a free software.
