In this study, we report the first record of mites of the genus Leptus (Latreille, 1796) (Trombidiformes: Erythraeidae) found on the triatomine Mepraia spinolai (Maza, Gajardo and Jorg, 1940) (Hemiptera: Rudiviidae), one of the three endemic triatomine species responsible for the transmission of Trypanosoma cruzi (Trypanosomatida) (Chagas, 1908), the causative agent of Chagas disease, in Chile.
