Potencialidades de exportación de productos agrícolas orgánicos a la Unión Europea

The present research aimed to identify the potential export of organic agricultural products to the European Union, within the scope of the Trade Promotion Agreement between Colombia, Peru and the EU. This with the purpose that both, the small and medium producers, and Colombian exporters can be able to identify business opportunities that this subsector has. Through consultation on official websites of different countries and interviews with experts on the subject under study, it was possible to collect relevant information for the development of the objectives proposed. The sample included three member countries of the European Union, for being part of the group of the main consumers of organic products, these were: Germany, France and Italy. In this way, we deepened in the market characteristics of the countries mentioned above, which enabled an approach to understanding consumer trends. This research exposes in its content the most relevant aspects concerning the export of organic agricultural products, as well as analyzes the offer and current situation in Colombia and in European countries of this type of goods and the development of the subsector.
