El concepto político de hispanidad de Miguel Antonio Caro en su debate con los liberales utilitaristas de finales del siglo XIX en Colombia

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the political concept of Hispanidad in Miguel Antonio Caro. They identified the main themes of the discussion he had with the radicals. Then, the types of premises that Caro used to develop its political concept of Hispanidad: religious, philosophical and literary, philosophical and ethical-political history. Second, it highlighted the political nature of concept of Hispanidad in analyzing the phenomenon of Independence. To conclude that this concept represents an idea of Hispanic civilization itself.
