dc.description.abstractThis article tries to show the origins of federalism in Colombia. It begins studying the first Republic, between 1811 1816. In this period Bogotá and Cartagena, the most important cities, fought for political and commercial supremacy. This writing also explains the regime of our Capital City in the last federalism period, 1853-1886. Finally, concludes with a description of how Bogotá had and organization known as Federal District, similar tan other countries like USA, Mexico and Argentina.
