Abstract

This paper examines the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross -ICRC in carrying out humanitarian work concerning its role as a neutral intermediary in the process of release of prisoners held by the FARC between 2008 and 2010 in Colombia, taking into account the IHL regulations governing the ICRC and its implications in the internal armed conflict.
