Resumen
The purpose of the research was to describe the leadership style, the performance in efficient leadership competencies and the level of emotional intelligence skills of leaders working at three companies in Bogota. Results show that leaders tend to evaluate themselves with a higher number of transformational leadership behaviours rather than transactional leadership behaviours. In contrast, subordinates evaluate them as transactional leaders. There is poor command of personal and social emotional intelligence competencies, which has an impact on the leadership style and on the variables of organizational consequences.
