Evolución de la Política Exterior y de Seguridad Común de la Unión Europea. Una aproximación desde el fenómeno de asilo en Grecia (2001-2012)

Abstract

This work seeks to examine how the phenomenon of asylum migration has influenced the evolution of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, taking into account the case study of Greece between 2001 and 2012. Thus, asylum migration is identified as a security problem in the middle of the process of European integration. The existing legal and policy framework on asylum in Greece and the EU is examined, and the construction process of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union is analyzed starting from its subsections on neighborhood, development and cooperation policy, and protection of human rights. The outcome of this research allowed establishing that asylum migration has partly influenced the evolution of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union during the studied period.
