Entre la gobernanza social e institucional: Una mirada al fenómeno de la trata de personas en Colombia en el período entre 2000 y 2012

Abstract

This monograph aims to identify the influence of the actions undertaken by civil society and international organizations in relation to trafficking in persons in Colombia between 2000 and 2012. In this regard, this research represents an effort to reveal the changes in the institutional narratives which have enabled the recognition of the importance of prevention and victims as key elements for the Colombian government’s discourse against trafficking in persons. To this end, global governance theory framed within the approach of the constructivist school of thought, will be used since it allows the establishment of a correspondence among the actions of the different actors involved and the impact of these actions for the setting-up of national strategies intended to address issues that like trafficking in persons have a close link to globalization.
