Abstract

The main objective of this research was to analyze some characteristic features of China's foreign policy after the Cold War ended and its new assumptions regarding international security, which are summarized in the New Security Concept (NCS). It is under this new international context and within the framework of globalism where China has redefined and established security guidelines that have guided its foreign policy till today. In order to extend the analysis and bring it to a specific case, this research deepened in Chinas relationships with the states of Central Asia established through the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
