Abstract

The present work of investigation has as aims to make an analysis on the role of the Summit of the countries of South America and Arab countries (ASPA) in the positioning of Brazil in Latin America. Given the above, this research will show that this Summit is a strategic positioning of Brazil as a regional power in Latin element , not only because it is a fruitful platform for consolidating the regional leadership of the nation, but its relevance to strengthen its international prestige and the desire to participate in shaping the world order through South- South cooperation. Since this is a case study that addresses specific experiences during a given time, the research design is longitudinal, as it will include articles and academic texts that have been made since 2005 to 2012.
