The present report describes the psychometric propertiesof the Qualitative Scoring System for theModifi ed version of the Bender-Gestalt Test, in a97 children’s group, that are going to enter to fi rstgrade of elementary education in a public school ofLima. Our fi ndings report modest levels of reliabilityinternal consistency and test-retest reliability, incomparison with the coeffi cients of the manual, buttheir potential range (due confi dence intervals) getsto high levels. The correlation with task orientation,fl uid intelligence and parental report of fi ne-motorbehavior give support to the validity and utility ofthis new scoring system in the context of fi rst gradechildren’s assessment. We discuss the limits andrelevance of this scoring system for the psychoeducationalresearch and assessment
