The following work is a compilation of information on digital technology and the process of its evolution until this present day. It aims to show how innovation has been a force for change in this sector, devising a new business model where its Supply chain to reach the customer is fast, flexible and cost effective. The digital world spanning multiple knowledge and societies has revolutionized knowledge through communication technologies, both in academia, entertainment and all the sciences. In Colombia the digital industry has had a major boost through the ministry of communications and technology and companies that have motivated and driven entrepreneurs to develop applications and tap into this market that offers a competitive environment
