Resumen
Introduction: Hidrolipoclasia is a body shaping technique consisting in a solution infiltration in adipose tissue with subsequent application of ultrasound to produce lysis in adipocytes and reduction of adipose tissue in the treatment area. However, there are many variations in this technique, including the type of solution used. The aim of this study was to compare the results with the technique in reducing measures with the use of hypotonic versus isotonic saline solution.
Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study, medical records of patients who underwent hidrolipoclasia between January 2013 and February 2014 on two aesthetic medical centers in Bogotá were analyzed. Two techniques were compared (using hypotonic versus isotonic saline solution) in terms of decrease of anthropometric measurements taken before and after treatment. Data were analyzed by comparing means using the Student t test.
Results: 37 medical records, 19 patients undergoing hidrolipoclasia saline isotonic hypotonic and 18 were analyzed. After performing a procedure there was a statistically significant (p: 0.000) in all anthropometric measures evaluated, being comparatively higher in patients treated with hypotonic solution in waist circumference and abdominal circumference at the level of iliac crests. Side effects included bruising and hematomas. There were no complications.
Conclusion: Hidrolipoclasia is safe and effective in the management of localized fat, having more effective when used hypotonic saline solution.
