Abstract

The document presents, from several facets (among them the epistemological, the historical and the etymological), some basic elements for the best comprehension of the concepts of administration, gerency, government, gestion and management, and of the existing discussion in the administrative fi eld and in our environment about them; it tries to reach to the major precision of our conceptual frame at the professional and the disciplinal level, although without the most minimum intention of giving by fi nished the debate to these levels; and it tries to clarify a series of relevant elements for its comprehension in our context as well as to contribute certain additional components.
