Resumen
The conflict initiated at the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from mid-nineties, represents one of the worst ongoing crisis in the african continent created by a complex internal and regional security dynamic. This way, the crisis response actions and prevention and conflict management actions carried out by the European Union represent the first autonomous and out of Europe operations, in a highly fragile country that constitutes a source of regional instability, turning it this way into a suitable case of research to analyse the successes and challenges presented on putting into practice the European Security and Defense Policy.
