The study on youth and their relation to practices carried out in public spaces, especially the street, has had a renewed interest in recent decades. These debates have become relevant in that young people seem to be central in the daily scenes of violence, particularly youth masses. Through an ethnographic process of systematic and sustained over time I identify and explain the different interactions of young people in public spaces four neighborhoods, focusing the analysis on the various forms of negotiation with armed actors, especially with police and paramilitarism. What argument is that a presence in public spaces, especially in the street, ends up constituting an option of life through which promote a social policy of resistance and belligerence but above all as a method that allows them to propose alternative existence , not violent, widespread violence against police and other paramilitary groups. The problem is that many of the expressions of some young people end up reproducing the mechanisms of violence victims, something that is identified, by those who turn to violence as a way of claiming a place in the community, afford to be recognized and heard and survive in a simultaneity of the daily violence that tramples and violates their rights.
