Abstract

The illegal settlements in Latín America pass through ditlcrcnt pcriods not only from the social point of view but also terri­ torial, juridical and urban. Once taken and occupied the fields, the following aim use to be thc lcgalization of thcm. In that work is analysed the SanMartín Neighbourhood case (Mendoza, Argentina) as a paradigmatic example of the way that get the field appropriation and Icgalization proccss and its direct repercussion in the urban growth. Ts remarkable, besides, the organization of scanty resources people to get houscs, infrastructurcs and basic serviccs.
