There are still comparatively few women pursuing scientific careers, or more generally playing significant rolse in scientific and technological culture, in an age when science and technology are essential to national development worldwide. This book is aimed at drawing educators' and teacher trainers' attention to elements of discrimination in the teaching of mathematics and sciences. It focuses particularly on the daily practice of teaching, where amiguities and discrimination are rarely perceived and seldom analysed by those involved.
