Report on a Visit to Canadá, United States and México

Abstract

The major rationale for the trip was the CAETS Governing Board Meeting in Ottawa linked to the Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. The opportunity was taken to extend the trip to have discussions with the Natinoal Research Council in Ottawa: the National Acedemy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences and the National Science Foundation and other groups in Washington; and the Council for Science and Technology in Mexico City on possible co-operation with the two Australian Academies under the new funding arrangements with the Department of Industry, Science and Tourism.
