dc.descriptionSummarySexual Dysfunctions (SD) are a complex and a frequent reason for medical consultation; it is very common that doctors are unaware of them or are limited to treat them. There are still taboos on the subject of sexuality by both patients and doctors. Much of the population who consults the doctor for this reason suffers other pathologies that may interfere with their sexual activity or if they are undergoing pharmacological treatment alterations may be secondary to the use of the same drugs. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of the SD allow an improvement in the quality of life of patients - not only at an individual level - but also this improvement has repercussions on the couple and the family.en-US
dc.descriptionResumenLas Disfunciones Sexuales (DS) son un complejo y frecuente motivo de consulta, en muchas ocasiones los médicos las desconocen o se ven limitados para tratarlas. Aún existen tabúes respecto al tema de la sexualidad tanto por parte de los pacientes como de los médicos. Gran parte de la población que consulta por esta causa padece con otras patologías que pueden interferir con la actividad sexual o bien se encuentran bajo tratamiento farmacológico las alteraciones que presentan pueden ser secundarias al uso de medicamentos. El diagnóstico temprano y el tratamiento apropiado de las DS permiten una mejoría en la calidad de vida de los pacientes -no sólo a nivel individual- sino que esta mejoría tiene repercusiones sobre la pareja y la misma familia.es-ES
