| dc.description | Existen varias lesiones que han sido clasificadas como lesiones fibroóseas, (displasia fibrosa, osteomielitis esclerosante y el fibroma osificante o cementificante). Estas entidades presentan un estroma fibroblástico vascular y producen una matriz calcificada que comprende el hueso y el cemento. El fibroma osificante central (fibroma cementificante, fibroma cemento-osificante) se caracteriza por presentar un crecimiento y aumento de volumen deformante de evolución lenta con una incidencia mayor en la mandíbula, pudiendo provocar desplazamiento de los órganos dentarios. En el estudio de imagen se presenta un área radiolúcida y unilocular, presentando en algunos casos diversos grados de radioopacidad, siendo radioopaco en raras ocasiones. Se presenta un caso de fibroma osificante central localizado en región posterior izquierda del maxilar en un paciente masculino de 13 años de edad, reportando datos clínicos, imagenológicos, histopatológicos así como su tratamiento. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Various processes exist that have been classified as fibro-osseous lesions in which we can find fibrous dysplasia, sclerosing osteomyelitis and ossifying fibroma or cementifying fibroma. These entities present a vascular fibroblastic stroma and produce a calcificated matrix that extends from the bone and the cementum. The central ossifying fibroma (cementifying fibroma, cement ossifying fibroma) is characterized by presenting a deformed growth and an increased volume, of slow evolution with a higher incidence in the mandible and can provoke teeth displacement. In the image examination, it appears like a radiolucent and unilocular area, presenting diverse shades of radiopacity, being radiopaque in rare occasions. We present a case of central ossifying fibroma in a 13 year old male patient located in the posterior left region of the maxilla. We report clinic data, imaging and histopathologic findings of this lesion as well as its treatment. | en-US |
