| dc.description | My aim in this paper is to show that the issue about the meaning of life is a wholly intelligible and legitimate one, as long as we don't consider it a factual problem and, accordingly, only if we do not try to give an answer to it in terms of facts, however special. By means of examples, I try to show that there is simply no intelligible literal use of the notion of meaning applied to the whole of human life, except when it is used in the past tense and in the third person. Any other kind of employment can only give rise to nonsense:. I argue that there is a "grammatical" link between the notions of "the meaning of life" and "the morally good life" (or, in the Tractatus terminology, "the happy life"). This leads me to try to elucidate the nature of a moral problem and to the description of the application of the expresion the meaning of life, since it is only this task which could eventually reveal its real meaning. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este trabajo intento mostrar que la pregunta por el sentido de la vida es perfectamente inteligible y legitima a condición de que no se le tome por una pregunta de carácter factual y se pretenda, per lo tanto, darle una respuesta en términos de hechos, por especiales que sean. Por medio de ejemplos trato de hacer ver que no hay un uso literal comprensible para el concepto de sentido aplicado al todo de la vida humana, salvo en pasado y siempre en tercera persona. Empleados de otro modo, en lo que se desemboca es en el planteamiento de pseudo-problemas. Argumento, por otra parte, que-hay una conexión "gramatical" entre las nociones "el sentido de la vida" y Vida moralmente buena" (o "vida feliz", en la terminóloga del Tractatus). Esto me lleva a tratar de esclarecer la naturaleza de un problema moral y a describir la utilidad del juego de lenguaje de la expresión 'sentido de la vida', pues es sólo este último lo que puede darnos el genuino significado de la problemática expresión en cuestión. | es-ES |
