El presente artículo trata la figura de Gregorio Cárdenas Hernández, el primer homicida en serie mexicano y el preso más famoso en la historia del Palacio Negro de Lecumberri. Los cuatro asesinatos cometidos por el Goyo conmocionaron enormemente a la ciudadanía y llevaron a un cuestionamiento sobre la naturaleza misma del criminal. Para contrarrestar la imagen del hombre-monstruo que fue forjándose a su alrededor, Cárdenas escribió una serie de memorias noveladas donde se autodefine como un prisionero con conciencia y un hombre de provecho.This article explores the figure of Gregorio Cárdenas Hernández, regarded as the first Mexican serial killer and the most famous prisoner in the story of the Black Palace of Lecumberri. The four murders committed by Goyo caused an enormous commotion among citizens and raised questions about his very nature. In order to counteract the image of the man-monster that had begun to develop around him, Cárdenas wrote a series of memoirs in the form of novels in which he defined himself as a prisoner of conscience and an upright citizen.
