comportamiento trimodal a ninguna de las concentraciones ensayadas Six polymethoxy-flavonoids isolated from peels of Citrus aurantium L. have been tested. The results were in agreement with Robbins' hypothesis3. Furthermore, the following facts have been observed: among the tested flavonoids, those with a methyl-ether group at positions 3' and 4' on the B ring were the most active compounds; at 100 µM/1 they reach their maximum inhibiting effect, whereas flavonoids with only one methyl-ether group at position 4' reach the peak of their activity at 200 µM/1. Nobiletin and heptamethoxyflavone, with completely methoxylated A rings. do not exhibit trimodal effects (the same flavonoid decreases, increases or has no effect on the erythrocyte sedimentation rate) at none of the concentrations
used in the assays
