This image shows two extratropical cyclones and one low pressure system in the Northeast Pacific Ocean, as observed by the GOES-West satellite, December 5, 2010 at 2030Z. The cyclone off the Northern California coast demonstrated a stable, closed circulation, characteristic of all cyclonic storms, while the large cyclone just south of the Gulf of Alaska was rapidly intensifying.
