The purpose of this article is to present four adaptations made for the cello around the traditional music of the Caribbean. This process began with the review of the approaches of different authors, who have spoken about the transcription, study and teaching of traditional music. Through these reflections it was possible to adapt the songs: Te olvidé, El pescador, Atlántico, and La gota fría. Where through various processes we explain the way in which these results were reached, and we conclude with some reflections on their contributions and possible challenges that may be found for future research.
