| dc.description | Schendyfops uirgingordae (Crabill, 1960), qui n' eta it connu que de l'ile Virgin Gorda (iles Vierges britanniques) et du littoral venezuelien, et seulement par des femelles, est trouve pour Ia premiere fois en Martinique (Antilles franc;aises), et represente par lc sexe male. Les caracteres de ce dernier sont decrits, revelant un remarquable dimorphisme sexuel qui se manifeste par Ia morphologie des antennes. Un rappel des types de dimorphisme observes chez d'autres Schendylidae m'otropicaux (Schendyfops pampeanus, S. perditus et Pectiniunguis ttrgentinensis) est donne, ainsi que des commenraires sur les geophilomorphes halophiles et leur distribution geographique. | |
| dc.description | Schendylops uirgingordae (Crabill, 1960), previously known from Virgin Gorda Island (British Virgin Islands) and Venezuclian coast is now reported from Martinique (French West Indies). The male (up to now unknown) and the remarkable sexual dimorphism observed on the antennae are here described and illustrated. A recapitulation of the other cases of this kind of sexual dimorphism in the Neotropical Schendylidae (Schendylops pampean us, S. perditus and Pectiniunguis argentinensis) and comments on halophilous centipedes and their geographical distribution are given. | |
