dc.description.abstractThe nutritional status of children aged 9 to 12 years of School "Jose Olaya," Huanchaco was determined using anthropometric measurements in October 2011. For this purpose it was made a Cross sectional descriptive study. The sample was composed of 213 children of School "Jose Olaya," Huanchaco, chosen for ages 9 to 12 years. We used anthropometric indicators: height / age, BMI, weight / height using the WHO and the NHCS criteria. The results according to the WHO indicators height / age there is a predominance of normal size with 83.10% and for Body Mass Index indicator there is a normal nutritional status (85.92%).With regard to the NCHS standard height / age there is a predominance of normal nutritional status with 64.32% and according to the weight / height index there is a predominance of normal nutritional status (37.09%). Concluding that the nutritional status of students is within the normal rates in accordance with the statistics for Peru
