Tratamientos protésicos realizados en la especialidad de rehabilitación oral de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo

Abstract

Objetivo: El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo, determinar cuáles son los tratamientos protésicos más frecuentes realizados en el Servicio de Rehabilitación Oral de la Unidad de Segunda Especialidad de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo durante los años 2015-2019. Material y Métodos: La investigación de tipo descriptivo, retrospectivo y observacional, tomó como muestra todas las historias clínicas de los pacientes con tratamiento de prótesis atendidos en el Servicio de Rehabilitación Oral de la Unidad de Segunda Especialización en Estomatología de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, en el período correspondiente a los años 2015-2019 (N=130). Se realizó el análisis descriptivo y se obtuvieron las frecuencias absolutas y relativas de las variables. Por ser variables cualitativas se empleó la prueba de Chi-cuadrado, considerando que existe una relación estadística significativa entre maxilar, zona edéntula, edad y sexo, con el tratamiento protésico, si la probabilidad de equivocarse es menor al 5%(p<0.05). Resultados: De los tratamientos realizados entre los años 2015 – 2019, el 54.9% corresponde a Prótesis Parcial Removible, el 24.9% a tratamientos de Prótesis total y el 20.2% de los tratamientos correspondieron a prótesis fijas. Conclusiones: La prótesis más frecuente requerida por los pacientes atendidos en la USEE fueron las prótesis Parcial removible, esto evidenciaría la necesidad de mejorar las condiciones bucodentales de la población a través de una política pública de salud oral efectiva orientada a la prevención y promoción de la salud enfocada en la disminución de la perdida dentaria.

Objective: The present study aimed to determine which are the most frequent prosthetic treatments performed in the Oral Rehabilitation Service of the Second Specialty Unit of the National University of Trujillo during the years 2015-2019. Materials and methods: The descriptive, retrospective and observational research took as a sample all the clinical records of the patients with prosthesis treatment attended in the Oral Rehabilitation Service of the Second Specialization Unit in Stomatology of the National University of Trujillo, in the corresponding period to the years 2015-2019 (N = 130). Descriptive analysis was performed, and the absolute and relative frequencies of the variables were obtained. Because they are qualitative variables, the Chi-square test was used, considering that there is a significant statistical relationship between maxilla, edentulous area, age and sex, with prosthetic treatment, if the probability of making a mistake is less than 5% (p <0.05). Results: Of the treatments performed between the years 2015 - 2019, 54.9% correspond to Removable Partial Prosthesis, 24.9% to Total Prosthesis treatments and 20.2% of the treatments corresponded to fixed prostheses. Conclusions: The most frequent prosthesis required by the patients treated at the USEE were the partial removable prosthesis, this would show the need to improve the oral conditions of the population through an effective oral health public policy oriented to the prevention and promotion of focused health in reducing tooth loss.
