Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the achievements that have been obtained in the population socioeconomic development according to the raised axes (Nutrition, Health, Education, Capacity Building, Rural Development, local and regional infrastructure, cultural and monumental heritage), with the contributed money to the Cajamarca Solidarity Fund (FSC) in the districts of: Cajamarca, La Encañada and Los Baños del Inca, in the Cajamarca province, Cajamarca region, in the period 2007 - 2011, in order to understand the discontent of the population and its rejection in most of them to the mining as an economic activity in the Region. This investigation begins with an analysis of the Cajamarca Solidarity Fund (FSC)results developed by CEDEPAS NORTE, and contrasted with data from the researched population itself, obtained through surveys and interviews which ones were performed by the autor of this thesis, well as books, magazines, publications and data from some public institutions. The main obtained results indicate that while there is economic growth, the socioeconomic development is not perceived by the population yet, however the gap between rich and poor has widened, despite 20 years of mining development offered by the Yanacocha SA through its social responsibility program and in the last five years through the so-called Cajamarca Solidarity Fund, the socioeconomic situation is in some ways worse than before.
