“Relación entre niveles de ansiedad y trastornos temporomandibulares en alumnos de Estomatología de la UNT, 2022”

Abstract

Las afecciones psicológicas debido a las situaciones recientes están tomando un protagonismo más relevante con el pasar del tiempo. Dentro de estas, la ansiedad puede llegar a ser un detonante de un trastorno a nivel del sistema estomatognático. El propósito de esta investigación es determinar si existe relación entre los niveles de ansiedad y los trastornos temporomandibulares en los alumnos de Estomatología de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo en el año 2022. La muestra estuvo conformada por un total de 108 estudiantes, 81 de género femenino (75%) y 27 de género masculino (25%); a quienes se les aplicó un cuestionario conformado por 3 secciones previo al llenado del consentimiento informado. Se encontró que los niveles de ansiedad-estado y ansiedad-rasgo relacionado con el año de estudios nos indica que los alumnos que cursan el último año de estudios tienen un nivel severo de ansiedad. En cuanto a la prevalencia y severidad de TTM relacionado con el género en estudiantes de Estomatología de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo no se encontró diferencias significativas. Se concluye que existe asociación significativa entre los distintos niveles de ansiedad y los grados de trastornos temporomandibular en los alumnos de Estomatología de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo.

Psychological conditions due to recent situations are taking a more relevant role with the passing of time. Within these, anxiety can become a trigger for a disorder at the level of the stomatognathic system. The purpose of this research is to determine if there is a relationship between anxiety levels and temporomandibular disorders in Stomatology students at the National University of Trujillo in the year 2022. The sample consisted of a total of 108 students, 81 female (75%) and 27 male (25%); to whom a questionnaire made up of 3 sections was applied prior to filling out the informed consent. It was found that the levels of anxiety-state and anxiety-trait related to the year of study indicate that students in the last year of studies have a severe level of anxiety. Regarding the prevalence and severity of TMD related to gender in Stomatology students at the National University of Trujillo, no significant differences were found. It is concluded that there is a significant association between the different levels of anxiety and the degrees of temporomandibular disorders in Stomatology students at the National University of Trujillo.
