dc.descriptionFor more than 25 years, Colombian artist Juan Manuel Echavarría has dedicated himself to investigating the violence of the armed conflict in Colombia through art. Mainly through photography, but also experimenting with other media such as video and installation, his work has attempted to reveal aspects of war that have remained invisible, imperceptible. Within the avalanche of images and narratives of violence that exist today in Colombia, and in many other countries that have suffered war, it is important to reflect about the role of art, about what differentiates it, and what allows it to build memories from unexpected places.en-US
dc.descriptionPor más de 25 años, el artista colombiano Juan Manuel Echavarría se ha dedicado a investigar la violencia del conflicto armado en Colombia a través del arte. Principalmente a través de la fotografía, pero también experimentando con otros medios como el video y la instalación, su obra ha intentado revelar aspectos de la guerra que han permanecido invisibles, imperceptibles. Dentro de la avalancha de imágenes y relatos de la violencia que existen hoy en Colombia, y en muchos otros países que han sufrido la guerra, es importante preguntarse por el papel del arte, por aquello que lo diferencia de uno u otro modo, y que le permite construir memoria desde lugares inesperados.es-ES
