dc.descriptionAlberto Martín was a publishing house founded in Barcelona in 1895 and specialized in the publication of geographical books. One of his most outstanding projects was the publication of a collection of Ibero-American geographical atlases. From 1901 began to publish the atlas of Spain in fascicles and later of Portugal, Peru and Mexico would come. The project had no continuation, probably due to marketing problems, despite having an outstanding cartography drawn up under the direction of Benito Chías Carbó. Well known in Spain, the Ibero-American geographical atlas project is practically unknown in Latin America.en-US
dc.descriptionAlberto Martín fue una editorial fundada en Barcelona en 1895 y especializada en la publicación de obras de geografía. Uno de sus proyectos más destacados fue la publicación de una colección de atlas geográficos iberoamericanos. A partir de 1901 empezó a publicar en fascículos el atlas de España, tras el que vendrían los de Portugal, Perú y México. El proyecto no tuvo continuación, probablemente por problemas de comercialización, a pesar de contar con una destacada cartografía trazada bajo la dirección de Benito Chías Carbó. El proyecto de atlas iberoamericano, si bien es conocido en España, ha pasado prácticamente inadvertido en Iberoamérica.es-ES
