Deforestation has long been linked as one of the most important causes of decreased rainfall in tropical forests, which are the most affected. This work has been carried out in the Mayo River drainage basin and aims to analyze in detail the amount of area that has been affected annually by deforestation in 20 selected sub-basins of the Mayo River and also determine which sub-basin has presented greater deforestation; On the other hand, we also want to examine what is its relationship with precipitation. The methodology used for this purpose was the application of the ArcGIS program, using the deforestation codes of the Google Earth Engine program and the grilled climate product ERA5 to obtain precipitation data. Finally, based on the results obtained, it can be affirmed that the amount of deforestation area affected has been very considerable, in such a way that it has caused greater rainfall in the sub-basins investigated, causing an alteration in the climatology.
