| dc.description | Diplomatics rises as a study field in the 17th century with a juridical purpose related to the verification of authenticity of “diplomas”. Along the 18th and 19th centuries, Diplomatics is deeply influenced by the European scientific and historiographical movements and gets the status of a scientific discipline devoted to the study of the authenticity of documents as a basis for historical research. This article characterizes Diplomatics during the mentioned period in order to point out the main historical factors which have contributed to the development of the discipline, especially in terms of the author that have been responsible for the theoretical foundation of Diplomatics. | |
| dc.description | A Diplomática nasce com o objetivo prático jurídico de verificar a autenticidade de diplomas, no século XVII. Durante os séculos XVIII e XIX, sofrendo a influência dos movimentos científicos e historiográficos europeus da época, a Diplomática é elevada ao status de disciplina científica cujo objetivo era verificar a autenticidade de documentos para fins de pesquisa histórica. Neste período verifica-se a grande efervescência teórica e metodológica da disciplina graças à introdução de seus estudos nos Institutos históricos. O presente artigo caracteriza a Diplomática neste período, abordando os fatores históricos que contribuíram para o amadurecimento da área, os marcos teóricos responsáveis pela construção da disciplina, bem como suas obras mais significativas e implicações aos arquivos. | |
