| dc.description | Introduction: The daily physical activity and biotype of firefighters is determinant in the good professional performance to guarantee the integrity of people during fires. Objective: The objective of this research is to determine the predominant somatotype of Cuenca firefighters according to gender, age and function. Methodology: This is comparative descriptive research, with a quantitative and cross-sectional approach. A total of 114 paid firefighters of the institution in the year 2023 participated, with ages between 23 and 61 years, with an M age of 37 years, selected in a non-probabilistic way by convenience. The study was developed by applying the restricted ISAK profile that allows evaluating body characteristics and identifying skin folds, perimeters and diameters of the firefighters in order to obtain specific data. Results and conclusion: The results obtained show that the predominant somatotype in firefighters and machinists is meso endomorphic with 85% and according to gender, mesomorphism with 81.37%, being the least predominant endomorph. | en-US |
| dc.description | Introducción: La actividad física diaria y el biotipo de los bomberos es determinante en el buen desempeño profesional para garantizar la integridad de las personas durante los siniestros. Objetivo: El objetivo de esta investigación es determinar el somatotipo predominante de los bomberos de Cuenca según el género, edad y función. Metodología: Esta investigación es de tipo descriptivo comparativo, con un enfoque cuantitativo y de corte transversal. Participaron 114 bomberos rentados de la institución en el año 2023, con edades comprendidas entre 23 y 61 años, con una edad M de 37 años, seleccionados de manera no probabilística por conveniencia. El estudio se desarrolló aplicando el perfil restringido ISAK que permite evaluar las características corporales e identificar los pliegues, perímetros y diámetros cutáneos de los bomberos para obtener los datos específicos. Resultados y conclusión: Los resultados obtenidos refieren que el somatotipo predominante en los bomberos y maquinistas es el meso endomórfico con un 85% y según el género de igual manera es el mesomorfismo con 81,37% siendo el endomorfo menos predominante.
