| dc.description | La hipertensión arterial es uno de los problemas de salud pública más importantes, especialmente en países sub-desarrollados ya que es frecuente, por lo general asintomática, fácil de diagnosticar y de tratar. Objetivo. Contribuir al conocimiento de la situación de salud cardiovascular del adulto mayor en Honduras con el fin de influir en políticas públicas que beneficien a esta población. Método. Estudio descriptivo; realizado en el Hospital de Occidente, Santa Rosa de Copán. Participaron 60 pacientes entre las edades de 60-95 años. Previo consentimiento informado se utilizó un cuestionario de 23 preguntas, al examen físico se tomó presión arterial, talla y peso. El criterio para la clasificación de la hipertensión arterial fue la guía American Heart Association 2019 y para la parte nutricional se tomaron los rangos por la OMS para paciente geriátrico. | |
| dc.description | Hypertension is one of the most important public health problems, especially in underdeveloped countries since it is frequent, usually asymptomatic, and easy to diagnose and treat. Objective. Contribute to the knowledge of the cardiovascular health situation of the elderly in Honduras in order to influence public policies that benefit this population. Method. Descriptive study; held at the Hospital de Occidente, Santa Rosa de Copán. Sixty patients between the ages of 60-95 years participated. With prior informed consent, a 23- question questionnaire was used. During the physical examination, blood pressure, height and weight were taken. The criteria for the classification of arterial hypertension was the American Heart Association 2019 guideline and for the nutritional part the ranges were taken by the WHO for geriatric patients. | |
