| dc.description | En Honduras se ha registrado varias denuncias y quejas ligadas a la actividad extractiva, ejecutada en su mayoría por empresas transnacionales, induciendo la oposición de la población por los antecedentes de proyectos mineros que han provocado graves daños al medio ambiente, por ende, violaciones a derechos humanos. Hasta el momento, el tratamiento jurídico, control y supervisión de esas empresas se ha estructurado en torno al ejercicio “ineficaz” del estado, sin embargo, también se reconoce que las transnacionales extractivas aprovechan este escenario de ventajas atractivas para sus inversiones. A partir de este análisis crítico, este articulo sugiere la creación de una Ley de minería con todos los aspectos que garanticen el equilibro del crecimiento económico con el desarrollo sostenible y la creación de un ente independiente que vigile el actuar de las instituciones involucradas en el rubro minero, así evitar daños irreparables de los proyectos extractivos que se lleguen a ejecutar en el país. | |
| dc.description | Honduras has numerous complaints linked to extractive activities made by foreign corporations. Said activities induce the population’s opposition. Historically, mining projects have caused serious damage to the environment, therefore, commiting violations of human rights. So far, the legal treatment, control and supervision of these businesses has structured around the “ineffective” exercise of the State. However, this also recognizes that foreign mining corporations have leveraged this situation in order to have attractive advantages for their investments. From this critical analysis, the article suggests the creation of a mining law with aspects to ensure the balance of economic growth with sustainable development. Furthermore, the foundation of an independent body that looks out the way of working of the institutions involved in the mining business, to avoid irreparable damage of extractive projects to arriving in the country. | |
