| dc.description | Cargill es una empresa multinacional, teniendo sedes en Centroamérica en países como Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala y Costa Rica. En Honduras, cuenta con operaciones en 11 diferentes ciudades de Honduras: La Ceiba, San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras, Villanueva, Santa Cruz de Yojóa, Comayagua, Siguatepeque, Tegucigalpa, Danlí, Choluteca, Tocoa y Juticalpa.
En territorio nacional, sus dos negocios principales son Cargill Protein, que se dedica a las carnes y aves de corral, y Cargill Feed and Nutrition, que se dedica a la nutrición animal.
La práctica profesional desarrollada en un periodo de dos meses y medio, y se llevó a cabo en Cargill CFN, específicamente en planta Alcón de Villanueva, Cortés donde se desempeñó el puesto de Asistente de Operación Logística en el departamento de mantenimiento, desarrollando actividades relacionadas a los procesos internos del almacén.
Las actividades llevadas a cabo fueron surgiendo según iba pasando el tiempo, y se fueron difiriendo de lo originalmente planeado. Varias de las actividades que se terminaron desarrollando fueron asignadas en el momento ya que eran lo que mejor se acoplaba a lo que estaba sucediendo o lo que era una prioridad en el almacén. Una de estas actividades fue el levantamiento del inventario de repuestos obsoletos.
El levantamiento del inventario, junto con el levantamiento del housekeeping del almacén, fueron las dos tareas que dieron paso a la oportunidad de observación de una posible mejora, ya que dio un mejor entendimiento de las complicaciones y problemas que se originaban debido a la falta de organización en la bodega. Ambas tareas se llevaron a cabo con formatos físicos, y su única interacción con la tecnología fue al momento de digitar la información recopilada en un Excel, en el caso del levantamiento del inventario, y en un reporte en Word por parte del housekeeping. | |

The activities carried out arose as time went by, and differed from what was originally planned. Several of the activities that ended up being developed were assigned at the time because they were what was best suited to what was happening or what was a priority in the warehouse. One of these activities was the inventory survey of obsolete spare parts.
The inventory survey, together with the housekeeping survey of the warehouse, were the two tasks that gave way to the opportunity to observe a possible improvement, since it gave a better understanding of the complications and problems that originated due to the lack of organization in the warehouse. Both tasks were carried out with physical formats, and their only interaction with technology was at the moment of typing the information collected in an Excel, in the case of the inventory survey, and in a Word report by the housekeeping. | |
