| dc.description | Esta investigación se llevó a cabo con el propósito de servir como proyecto de graduación de la Carrera de Medicina y Cirugía. El propósito fue caracterizar las infecciones asociadas a servicios de salud en los pacientes que estuviesen en ventilación mecánica dentro del Departamento De Medicina Interna del Hospital de Occidente durante el período enero-marzo del año 2020. El objetivo de dicha investigación es identificar los microorganismos predominantes en las diferentes infecciones evaluadas junto con la sensibilidad antibiótica que presentan. De esta manera poder describir la micriobiota local junto con la cobertura empírica ideal para poder disminuir resistencia bacteriana aumentando las posibilidades de un tratamiento y disminuir la morbilidad y mortalidad de los pacientes. Este estudio es descriptivo, tipo serie de casos donde se realizó un muestreo de conveniencia, no probabilístico de pacientes en ventilación mecánica basándose en la revisión de fuentes secundarias tipo expedientes clínicos con un instrumento diseñado para la recolección de información necesaria. | |
| dc.description | This research was done with the purpose to serve as a graduation project for de Medicine and Surgery career. The focus was to characterize the Infections Associated with Health Services (IAHS) in patients who were connected to mechanical ventilation within the Internal Medicine Department of the West Hospital of Honduras during the months of January-March of the year 2020. The objective of this paper was to identify the leading microorganisms within the different infections evaluated and to determine the antibiotic sensitivity of the cultivated bacteria. This way, we could identify the local microbiota and guide adequate empirical antibiotic treatment to diminish morbidity and mortality of the affected patients. This study is descriptive, type series of cases where a coexisting sampling was made, non-probabilistic of patients with mechanical ventilation basing the research in secondary sources type clinical records with an instrument specifically design to obtain the information needed. | |
