| dc.description | This work describes a geometric and kinematic investigation of tectonic structures in Ediacaran strata of the Belagres Quarry, located southeast of Caçapava do Sul-RS, as well as its implications with the regional structural geological framework. The study revealed the existence of 3 kinematic stages and a geometric arrangement of certain geogragraphically associated structural trends. Elements of the pattern thus formed include folds, faults, veins and joints tendencies. Its causes were interpreted as resulting from the movement of regional shear zones of the region to which the study area is inserted. The first kinematic stage (I) is represented by the normal faults, defined by high-angle to intermediate movements with direction of motion for NW, arranged parallel to the axial trend of the folds. The second Kinematic stage (II) is represented by the inverse faults and defined by high-angle movements with sense of motion for SE, arranged in the same way, parallel to the axial trend of the folds. This compressive regime was interpreted as responsible for folds in the region studied. The third Kinematic stage (III) is represented by the striations on the bedding surface characterized by horizontal to sub-horizontal movements with NNE plunge and interpreted as resulting from the lateral movements of regional transcurrent faults of the same direction, resulting in wide open folds. These structures form a coherent structural framework with a strong genetic relation with the regional brittle tectonics of Ediacarana. | |
| dc.description | Este trabalho descreve uma investigação geométrica e cinemática das estruturas tectônicas em estratos ediacaranos da Pedreira Belagres, localizada a sudeste de Caçapava do Sul-RS, assim como suas implicações com o quadro geológico estrutural regional. O estudo revelou a existência de 3 estágios cinemáticos e um arranjo geométrico de certas tendências estruturais geograficamente associadas. Os elementos do padrão assim formado incluem tendências de dobras, falhas, veios e juntas. Suas causas foram interpretadas como resultantes da movimentação de zonas de cisalhamento rúpteis de caráter regional ao qual a região de estudo está inserida. O primeira estágio cinemático (I) é representado pelas falhas normais, definidas por movimentos de alto ângulo a intermediário com sentido de transporte para NW, dispostas paralelamente à tendência axial das dobras. O segundo estilo cinemático (II) é representado pelas falhas inversas e definido por movimentos de alto ângulo com sentido de transporte para SE, dispostas do mesmo modo, paralelamente à tendência axial das dobras. Este regime compressivo foi interpretado como responsável pelos dobramentos na região estudada. O terceiro estágio cinemático (III) é representado pelas estrias na superfície de acamamento, caracterizadas por movimentos horizontais a sub-horizontais, com caimento para NNE e interpretado como decorrente dos movimentos laterais de falhas transcorrentes regionais de mesma direção, resultando em dobras abertas de grande envergadura. Estas estruturas formam um coerente quadro estrutural com forte relação genética com a tectônica rúptil regional de idade Ediacarana. | |
