| dc.description | The bean type caupi (Vigna unguiculata) is an important and popular legume in the Brazilian agricultural. Therefore, it is relevant to study strategies to increase the productivity of this cultivar through tools that can assess the phenotype and prospect for impovements in the genotype. Thus, the objective of this work was to analyze the direct and indirect effects of the morphological and productive variables of cowpea in two cultivars BRS Nova Era and BRS Guariba, through linear correlation and trail analysis. The Experiment was carried out on the Gurupi campus of the Federal University of Tocantins, in a dystrophic red-yellow latosol and sowing was done manually for both areas. The characters evaluated were plant height (ALT), number of lateral branches (NRL), number of pods per plant (NVP), length of pods (CPV), number of seeds per pod (NSV), grain weight (MG), average number of seeds per plant (NMSP), weight of one hundred grains (MCG) and productivity (PROD). Regarding the phenotypic correlation, there was a good relationship in the direction and magnitude of the variables studied, indicating that the genotype and phenotype are correlated with each other, in the two cultivars (BRS Nova Era and Guariba), highlighting the NSV variable (number of seeds per pod) in relation to productivity. In the Trail analysis, the direct and indirect effects of the primary components of production on the main productivity variable were estimated. The NSV variable had the greatest direct effect on productivity in both cultivars, demonstrating that the selection based on NSV can provide satisfactory gains. | |
| dc.description | O feijão-caupi (Vigna unguiculata) é uma importante e popular leguminosa no cenário agrícola brasileiro. Por isso, é relevante estudar estratégias para aumentar a produtividade desta cultivar por meio de ferramentas que possam avaliar o fenótipo e prospectar melhorias no genótipo. Desta forma, o objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar os efeitos diretos e indiretos das variáveis morfológicas e produtivas do feijão-caupi em duas cultivares BRS Nova Era e BRS Guariba, por meio da correlação linear e análise de trilha. O experimento foi um experimento em branco conduzido na Universidade Federal do Tocantins campus de Gurupi, em um latossolo vermelho-amarelo distrófico e a semeadura foi feita de maneira manual para as duas áreas. Os caracteres avaliados foram altura de planta (ALT), número de ramos laterais (NRL), número de Vagens por planta (NVP), comprimento de vagens (CPV), número de sementes por vagem (NSV), massa de grãos (MG), número médio de sementes por planta (NMSP), massa de cem grãos (MCG) e produtividade (PROD). Em relação a correlação fenotípica houve uma boa relação na direção e magnitude das variáveis estudadas, indicando que os genótipo e fenótipo destes estão correlacionados entre si, nas duas cultivares (BRS Nova Era e Guariba), tendo destaque para a variável NSV (número de sementes por vagem) em relação a produtividade. Na Análise de trilha estimaram-se os efeitos diretos e indiretos dos componentes primários da produção sobre a variável principal produtividade. A variável NSV teve o maior efeito direto sobre produtividade nas duas cultivares, isso demonstra que a seleção baseada em NSV pode proporcionar ganhos satisfatórios. | |
