| dc.description | This article analyzes a string by the poet Patativa do Assaré (1909-2002), observing the social and
political perspective taken by the author in the text Antonio Conselheiro (2006). Through subsidies
from literature and discursive semiotics, it talks about a poetry of a social nature, which takes up
events from the early years of republican Brazil and which resulted in the massacre of thousands of
peasants, as the production of the novel “Os sertões” had already witnessed at first hand. by Euclides
da Cunha. It is a text of laudatory character when the figure of the blessed is exalted by being
approximated to the values of Christianity. Counselor would organize a society in the Brazilian
interior with socialist characteristics and, due to the figurativization brought by Patativa, this would
configure itself as a true society with utopian features. The work discusses the biography of the great
master of cordel, the characteristics of this poetic genre, the history of the Canudos massacre and,
finally, it presents a semiotic analysis of the poem based on the categories of discursive syntax and
semantics. | |
| dc.description | O presente artigo analisa um cordel do poeta Patativa do Assaré (1909- 2002), observando a
perspectiva social e política assumida pelo autor no texto Antonio Conselheiro (2006).
Mediante subsídios da literatura e da semiótica discursiva, discorre a respeito de uma poesia
de cunho social, que retoma acontecimentos dos anos iniciais do Brasil republicano e que
resultaram no massacre de milhares de camponeses, conforme já testemunhara em primeira
mão a produção do romance Os sertões, de Euclides da Cunha. Trata-se de um texto de
caráter laudatório, quando a figura do beato é exaltada ao ser aproximada dos valores do
cristianismo. Conselheiro organizaria uma sociedade no interior brasileiro com características
socialistas e, pela figurativização trazida por Patativa, esta se configuraria como uma
verdadeira sociedade de feições utópicas. O trabalho discorre, também, sobre a biografia do
grande mestre do cordel, as características desse gênero poético, a história do massacre de
Canudos e, por fim, apresenta uma análise semiótica do poema a partir das categorias da
sintaxe e da semântica discursivas. | |
