| dc.description | Desde sus inicios Seis Sigma (Six Sigma) ha sido considerada como una nueva tecnología de mejora de los procesos y servicios que ha logrado impactar en forma significativa en resultados en empresas. El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad el mostrar la manera en que se puede disminuir la variabilidad de un proceso de fabricación de muebles por medio del uso de la metodología Seis Sigma, además de comprobar si es aplicable a una mediana empresa. Este proyecto se llevó a cabo en la empresa LIZ MUEBLES, la cual tenía problemas en el flujo de operaciones y su correspondiente tiempo de ciclo.
Para el desarrollo, se identificaron las variables que afectan el problema; se establecieron métricas y la aplicación del ciclo DMAIC a través del cual se identificaron las causas raíces, lo que permitió encontrar soluciones gracias a la implementación de las mejoras; y se les dio seguimiento en un periodo de 3 meses para estandarizar el proceso, logrando alcanzar las metas planteadas. Para el análisis, se emplearon herramientas del control estadístico de procesos y el uso del software Minitab para el procesamiento y análisis de datos. | |
| dc.description | Six Sigma has been considered a new improvement technology of processes and services since its origins. It has had a meaningful impact on the results in companies. The purpose of this paper is to show how the use of this methodology can reduce the variability in a process of furniture manufacturing. Furthermore, it will be proved if this methodology could be applied in a medium sized- enterprise. This project was carried out at LIZ MUEBLES company, which had problems concerning to the flow of operations and his corresponding time of cycle.
For developing this methodology, the variables affecting the problem were identified; metrics and the applications of DMAIC project (that allowed the identification of root causes) were established; and the implementation of improvements made possible the monitoring for a 3 month period to standardize the process to achieve the established goal.
For the statistical analysis, statistical control tools of processes and Minitab software for data processing and analysis were used. | |
