dc.descriptionLa seguridad social es un derecho fundamental establecido en la constitución nacional y el garante de esta protección es el estado, quien debe asegurar que todos los colombianos puedan gozar de esta protección La Seguridad Social colombiana vino a dar sus primeros pasos en el año de 1946, cuando se crea el INSTITUTO COLOMBIANO DE SEGUROS SOCIALES por medio de la Ley 90 de 26 de diciembre de 1946.Quienes adoptan la fecha del 26 de diciembre de 1946 como la del origen, lo hacen bajo el argumento contundente de haberse dado a la vida jurídica al antiguo Instituto Colombiano de Seguros Sociales, entidad primera que protegió los seguros de pensiones en sus modalidades de vejez, invalidez, de muerte, enfermedad, maternidad, accidentes y enfermedades profesionales. Vale señalar que el programa de PENSIONES solo surgió en el ano de 1967 a partir del mes de Enero - , cuando entro a regir el DECRETO 3041 que fue expedido en el año de 1966.
